North have announced that they have withdrawn from the European closed qualifier for IEM Sydney due to scheduling reasons.
On Twitter, North Director of Esports Jonas "whimp" Svendsen explained that the decision was made after the team arrived late for their round one match against 3DMAX, forfeiting the first map of the series, which the French side won 2-0.
With the team set to play the grand final of the ICE Challenge on Thursday at 13:00 , they risked running late again for their qualifying match in case they beat OpTic in their lower bracket match, and opted instead to drop out of the tournament.
North are just one victory away from claiming the ICE Challenge's grand prize of $30,000 after moving past AVANGAR and HEROIC in their first two matches in the competition, which is taking place in London. A victory would come as a massive boost to the Danish team after their IEM Katowice Major qualification campaign ended in failure.
